Editorial Policy

Last updated: 16 August 2026

This policy explains the standards 5000 Series aims to apply to Reviews, Product pages, comparisons, guides and news.

Accuracy and sourcing

We aim to verify important specifications, dates, prices and performance claims against reliable sources. Primary sources such as manufacturer documentation are preferred for product specifications, while independent evidence is used where it adds context or tests a claim. Material uncertainty, conflicting information and estimates should be labelled clearly.

Testing and benchmark evidence

A Review should state whether it is based on direct hands-on testing, analysis of published evidence, or a combination of both. We do not present third-party benchmark results as our own. When direct testing is performed, the article should describe the relevant test system, settings, software versions, resolution, methodology and meaningful limitations so readers can interpret the results.

Reviews and scores

Scores are editorial judgements, not laboratory measurements. Project Blackwell Reviews may consider Performance, Features, Design and Value. The overall score should reflect the written verdict and the evidence available at the time. Value may change when prices or competing products change, so older Reviews may be updated or clearly dated.

Products, offers and availability

Product pages are reference records and may be linked to Reviews. Retailer offers are supplied or checked separately from the editorial score. Price and availability information can change quickly and visitors should confirm the final details with the retailer.

Commercial relationships

Affiliate commissions, advertising, product loans, sponsorships or other material relationships should be disclosed clearly. A manufacturer, retailer or commercial partner does not receive the right to choose a score or approve an editorial conclusion. Factual corrections may be considered before or after publication, but commercial pressure does not justify changing an honestly reached verdict.

Product samples and loans

If a product is supplied, loaned, discounted or gifted for coverage, that relationship should be disclosed in the relevant article. A loan or sample does not guarantee positive coverage or publication.

Corrections and updates

We review credible correction requests. Material factual errors should be corrected promptly and, where useful to readers, accompanied by a dated correction or update note. Minor spelling, formatting or clarity changes may be made without a separate notice when they do not alter the meaning.

Use of AI tools

AI tools may assist with planning, transcription, organisation, drafting support, proofreading or code. They must not be treated as a source of product facts or used to invent testing, quotations, experiences or benchmark results. Content intended for publication should be reviewed by a person who is responsible for the final accuracy, clarity and disclosures.

Conflicts and contact

Contributors should disclose relevant financial or personal interests. To report a possible error, undisclosed relationship or breach of this policy, contact [email protected], including the page URL and supporting information.
